Project Overview
The Agronomist AI Assistant project addresses the shared challenge faced by small- and medium-scale greenhouse vegetable growers in Estonia and Latvia — the need to improve competitiveness and sustainability through access to advanced agronomic tools.
The project develops an AI-powered digital assistant that supports greenhouse operators in optimizing plant health, growth phases, and yield by providing real-time, personalized recommendations based on sensor data and environmental analysis.
Main Objectives
- Develop and pilot an AI-driven agronomic assistant for greenhouse vegetable cultivation.
- Enable real-time analysis of environmental conditions, growing media, and plant health.
- Provide growers with interactive, data-based recommendations to optimize irrigation, ventilation, and crop care.
- Facilitate cross-border knowledge transfer between Estonian technology developers and Latvian agricultural researchers.
- Promote sustainable, efficient, and competitive food production in the Estonia–Latvia region.
Expected Results
- A fully functional Agronomist AI Assistant jointly developed and tested in real greenhouse environments.
- Cross-border cooperation between four organisations integrating scientific, technological, and practical expertise.
- Improved efficiency in resource use (water, energy, nutrients).
- Enhanced competitiveness of greenhouse SMEs and contribution to regional sustainability goals.
